Inglorious Basterds
1. How does the action writing indicate Hanz Landa is playing mind games with LaPadite?
Hanz Landa is playing mind games with LaPadite by being polite and always requesting for permission to be allowed to do such things. One example is when Landa asks Lapadite “If it wouldn’t offend them, could you ask your lovely ladies to step outside?” (5) which makes LaPadite think that he has the power over Coronel Landa by being asked for permission, however, Landa knows he has the power over LaPadite all throughout the scene. Another way of Landa being manipulative is by pretending he has finished his business with Lapadite and his family, but Landa asks “However, before I could go, could I have another glass of your delicious milk?” (10) that makes LaPadite feel that relief but Landa takes it way in a snap by asking this question.
2. How does the action writing in the screenplay indicate who has control (or a lack thereof)?
The action writing in the screenplay can indicate who has control by the words exchanged between Coronel Landa and Lapadite. Landa knows himself that he has the control over LaPadite and he shows this in a few different ways. For example, he asks LaPadite “Are you aware of the job I’ve been ordered to carry out in France?” (6) which illustrates that Landa wants LaPadite to know what are his responsibilities and how much power he has. Another way of illustrating Landa’s control over LaPadite is when he asks “Monsieur LaPadite, are you aware of the nickname the people of France have given me?” (11) which makes LaPadite feel uncomfortable because of the fact that Landa's nickname is "The Jewish Hunter" and makes LaPadite lose his control over the situation and have Landa have all the control.
3. How does the dialogue communicate information about the character speaking?

Table read notes
Trishia
- I think Ellie was really sweet but kind of changed her attitude because Peter hurt her
- I think Ellie will give Peter another chance
- I think Peter is still unsure about what he wants in his life
- Ellie and Peter are around 19-20 years old
- Peter will gladly take the second chance if Ellie gives it to him but will waste it in the end

Carl:
- Peter seems to claim that she ( Ellie ) was the reason they haven't talked
- Both characters seems to know each other for a long period of time during childhood
- For Ellie, it seems like Peter has done many wrong things to her in the past
- Smiles and romance appears in both characters after they talk for a period of time
- They start their friendship once again after the scene and become a thing "again"

Aldrin
- Obviously both the main characters are past their teenage years
- Peter left Ellie for some big person, while Ellie waited for Peter for a long time
- Peter is Stubborn, while Ellie is hurt by Peter
- I honestly think they got back together
- In the ending I think that after Ellie says "Maybe I'm a little crazy myself' she goes up to Peter, slaps him on the face and then kisses him on the lips".

Marc
- At the beginning I imagined Ellie as a depressed girl and Peter as a mean guy who cares about no one but himself
- When Ellie saw Peter, everything changed, she became this anxious being that just wants ti vanish from her spot
- When they met, I changed my thought on Peter, he seems like a guy to fight for something he wants
- Ellie is crazy, she ignored Peter and just walked away
- My first impressions on the characters switched when she just walked way from him
